A nine pointer with a rack wider than his ears would get my attention at least. Compared to the buck next to him, he has quite a bit more mass too.

I think he is going to turn to a fine looking deer. See if you keep getting some pics of him, he may very well develope into one that will make the hit list.

I know this deer actually. I passed him up last year as a smaller 8 but with the AR restrictions my county is under this year he will number one on everyones hit list. so he may not make it to rifle season if i have anything to say about it.

He's still very young. It's obviously up to you, but that deer still has alot more potential.

this was just the first time i had checked this camera. there could still be alot of deer out there. but what surprised me even more is that guy came out in broad daylight and 80 degree heat.

Yeah, I hunt in LA and know EXACTLY what you mean. I haven't had a daytime trail cam photo yet, except of hogs.

almost every photo i had was in the daytime i had one in some really dense fog of a spike but with alot of mass. looked like miniature rolling pins on his head.

Hes a nice young buck...good looking frame. He might suprise you and be a little bigger than you think. He could grow into a giant in a year or two if hes smart enough to survive the rifle season!

RE: not the biggest one but

I know i only have 23 acres but i manage this land as strictly as possible. so strict i still hav not taken a buck with my bow. i passed on 6 bucks last year. one of them only cause it was a bad percentage shot on a 140". and before you ask no he didn't make it through rifle season last year. i consider myself to have a high level of self control but this will be my 4th year and i'm not for sure how much longer i can hold out.

Do what you have to do. Obviously other people should not tell you what deer you should shoot.

That in itself should have some bearing on your decisionmaking reguarding what bucks to shoot or not shoot. JMHO

Nice, ever think of taking a juvenile into the woods. This would definitely put a smile on most faces here. Extend this one out to an unfortunate juvenile. I think the smile on a kids face would make this worth your while tenfold. Not to metion another hunter hooked for life. Just a thought.

+1 I would be hesitant to pass if you think someone else will get him anyways.
