Spinoff From Best Unknown Hunter In Your State

I submit to y'all that HNI should hold a contest (for lack of better word in my feeble mind) that would be a spinoff from Germ's thread "Best Unknown Hunter In Your State". Open it up to all registered users of Huntingnet.com with the following rules:

1. Nominee cannot be a current member of the forum;
2. Nominations are limited to one per member;
3. Members should nominateaperson they personally know, who, in their opinion, best epitomizes an American Hunter;
4. Judges determine the top 3 nominations and award those persons a prize (hat, T-shirt, etc)
5. All nominees receive a certificate from Huntingnet.com.

I further submit that such a contest would bring more top class members to the forum (and I am NOT saying we don't have some of the best hunters on here already). Said new members would also bring a lot more expertise and techniques to all members.

If it is not feasible because of the cost of doing something like this, I would gladly help out financially as much as I possibly can and would guess others would do the same.

Now that I've put it out here, what do y'all think?

Forgive me....but how will this work if they cannot be a current member of the forum?

You nominate someone you know who is not a member of this forum! Only members can make nominations. Jeez mobow, R U from Puxico or something?

When (if) it happens, doesn't really matter to me for the timeframe. I just thought it would be a good thing to do. The membership as a whole can come up with the timeframe as far as I am concerned.

See Item 3 in my original post.

Your response emulates what I hit Germ with in his original thread. I guess its "touche" to me.

I second the Capt. Tuttle nominee. That dude was awsome. He was a skilled surgen, nailed Margret and died in the line of duty. What a great---- imaginary guy!!!!

This was the very first thought that came to my mind as well!:eek: I don't think "#3" handles the problem. Too much grey area.[8D]

I'm not trying to buck your system. I think it's a nice idea, but how can we trust someone else's idea of what a good nominee would be? That's all I'm getting at.:(:D

Early, it's called integrity. I suggest that the vast majority of persons who subscribe to this forum do have integrity going for them. I know I would not make something up about someone else to get them an award. First of all, what would that other person think of you for lying about them. Second, I could not live with myself knowing I had willfully told falsehoods to get a friend/acquaintance an award.

You nominate someone and from what you are able to say about that person, the judges will score your nomination post/pm. After all entries are judged, thethree who have the highest combined scores are this years' recipients.

All in all its pretty simple as far as I'm concerned.
