RE: Mythbusters in an archery shop..Discovery, now.
The show tried to replicate the movie robinhood when they split a wood arrow. They came to the conclusion that it was a bambo arrow and replicated the feat with an archer shooting carbon arrows into it and splitting it.

whta im confused?

RE: Mythbusters in an archery shop..Discovery, now.
They were tryig to disprove that a robin hooded arrow could be done. My cousin, strictly a gun hunter, watched this one and told me that they actually disproved it.
In other words, it would be a waste of time to watch it. |

ORIGINAL: DropTine249 Well they were looking for a TOTAL split- nock to tip. They couldnt get it. I mean, stranger things have happened...I think it "could" happen, but I've never seen it. BUT, I am one man and I have not been around wooden arrow archers. I have split a carbon express about 2/3 the shaft, and I dont see how a carbon could split the WHOLE lenght of the shaft. |
RE: Mythbusters in an archery shop..Discovery, now.
that would be great
i might watch it if i see it on tv someday |
RE: Mythbusters in an archery shop..Discovery, now.
They used a device kinda like a hooter shooter so the would have the same draw and aim on each shot . They split some arrows which most archers would probably call a Robin Hood but they couldn't split from nock to tip . The grain of the shafts had a bit ti do with it ............
