The show tried to replicate the movie robinhood when they split a wood arrow. They came to the conclusion that it was a bambo arrow and replicated the feat with an archer shooting carbon arrows into it and splitting it.

They were tryig to disprove that a robin hooded arrow could be done. My cousin, strictly a gun hunter, watched this one and told me that they actually disproved it.

In other words, it would be a waste of time to watch it.

ORIGINAL: DropTine249

Well they were looking for a TOTAL split- nock to tip. They couldnt get it.

I mean, stranger things have happened...I think it "could" happen, but I've never seen it.

BUT, I am one man and I have not been around wooden arrow archers.

I have split a carbon express about 2/3 the shaft, and I dont see how a carbon could split the WHOLE lenght of the shaft.
My cousin wasn't describing it right to me then. I am suprised because he watches that show from beginning to end. I will need to bring this up to him, thanks.

They used a device kinda like a hooter shooter so the would have the same draw and aim on each shot . They split some arrows which most archers would probably call a Robin Hood but they couldn't split from nock to tip . The grain of the shafts had a bit ti do with it ............
