peep sites - what to do?

Well, i was shooting my bow the other day, and my peep site would sometimes get tilted to one side. causing me to shoot off. This happened last season, when i drew on my first buck, i didnt know what to do, so i tryed let down and drew agian, but the buck busted me:(. But anyway, is there anything i can do to fix this?

Thanks

If you are referring to the peep not aligning properly when you draw, it sounds like you need toput a half, or one twist in your string.

I use a T.R.U. speed Nock, I have my peep aligned really good but this thing keeps it perfect every time. It's really tiny and supposedly weighs the same as a brass nock. If you try it though place your bow on an outstreched bath towel while you're trying to get that microscopic screw in that tiny hole, you will drop it a couple of time before you get it. :D

I have the same problem as you. Mine has done that with ever bow I've had... I've gotten in a habit to twisting the peep site straight each time I shoot so when I pull back its normal again. If you really hate doing that I would suggest getting your bow restrung with a new peep sight.

The problem is not the peep. It's the string. You can use all the gadgets mentioned above. Tube aligners, nock aligners, ets. I've been there and done that. What I found is that most generic or factory strings are the problem. They are made in an inferior manner or not twisted enough to make them stable.

Spend the money and get good aftermarket set. At least get the string. Have them installed properly, shoot about 50 shots to settle them in and then install your peep so it's pointing straight back. If everything was put on the bow right then the peep should not rotate at all. You might see about a 10 degree change in location during extreme temperature changes, but this should not keep you from seeing through it.

Now, what strings? You can spend $100 and get a set of Winner's Choice. There are others such as Vapor Trail, Prostrings, Wolfden, Stone Mountain, and many others. You can see a bunch listed in the classified on www.archerytalk.com. My personal recommendation is a guy right here on these forums by the name "GIBBLET". His real name is John Mraz and his strings are second to none, with customer service to match. If you have any problems or questions he'll be glad to help you. Give him a PM and see what happens.

I've had a set of his strings on my target bow for three years and nothing has moved since I set it up. Absolutely no peep rotation whatsoever.

if nothing else works try a hind sight once sighted in you can't miss..and its not on the string so theres nothing to worry about....and it glowsso you can see in those dusk/dawn shots
