Hey Miller, do you have access to that cover to the North? Scroll up on the map about 400-600 yards. It looks like a good strip(maybe 200-300 yards wide) of land between two large open areas. If you find where two types of cover converge, then you can possibly narrow their travel paths down even more. I like to hunt where edges of cover converge and from the looks of it, the strip of land is narrow enough to provide some good cover in otherwise open land.

Most times when they fly over an take pics of terrain it is during the winter time. Or it use to be that way. Those do not look like pines an they do not look dark enough for cedars. So, ????????.

well see this is florida, so almost everything is green year round, that is why i asked because it is kinda wierd. and virginiashadow, yes i have access to that land. i will look at what you are talking about.

I lived and hunted in FL for about 10 years. Mostly Polk and Pasco counties. The spanish moss I see growing in those trees is a dead giveaway of typical FL. Do the oaks in FL drop acorns in the fall, or does the subtropical climate kepp them from producing them?
I always hunted swamp and big cutovers so I cant remember any acorns from oaks that I saw. I love my Oaks here in VA...always an automatic feeder come fall! |

No, i am pretty sure, not positive, that they do fall because i was squirrel hunting a 50 acre oak hammock, and there were so many acorns all over the ground.
