Let the bow string pop your arm a few times! :) That will wake you up and make you tough.

You can't have the worst case of TP ever, because I've had it even worse than that. Quit yer whinin'. [8D]

Get into the fridge, grab a couple of those 12-ounce hydraulic stabilizers and forget about shooting for a couple of days. The push the reset button under your cap and try again. ;)

Dave I am with you on this one brotha just ask the boys that shot at the (HNI) coon creek get together. Dr Andy swore I shot once without even being at full draw.
I did Arthurs advice and took a few days off (Only 2-3 drinks though) then went back at it. When I first got to the range I spend about 10 minutes blind shooting.
I held for at least 10 seconds before releasing and then let her rip.The difference was something else after that and feel so much better now. Give it a try and good luck buddy.
You never know we just might be on the same team again this year.

Not possible for you to have the worst case ever.I am quite certain I had it! A few things you can do to break the spell.Blind bale shooting (google it)not caring so much (meaning relaxing)you have to remember that you don't have to shoot, let down if you aren't under complete control.
If your malady is as bad as mine was,you will get professional archery instruction, change your stance, shorten your draw length dramatically,go to a back tension release exclusively for three years(including hunting).
If I had any one recommendation it would be to relax and not caring so much, with a relaxed mind and body you can make the necessary adjustments to conquer it.

I have the cure. It was given to me by a world class archer a few years ago. There is no quick fix. Yet, I'm tired of laying out the process to people because they never will commit to it. If they did they'd be far better off than they EVER were. In my case I followed his regiment for 2 and half months during Jan, Feb and March. But I'm tired of telling people who won't listen and instead choose to take someones "Quick Fix" which gets them some momentary feel better shooting. Good luck, you appear to have a full blown case for sure... shooting on the move, can't get on target and all that. Listen to all the fast fixes and if you really want to know how to cure it I'll lay it out,, but I don't want to go through the trouble of typing a 2 page reply if you aren't ready to not look at a target for a month or two. That means bullseyes, 3D anyting. You won't shoot an arrow longer than a few feet for that time. Didn't we tell you a couple months ago you had target panic?

I thinkyou told me 2 weeks ago but left it at that and I thanked you. If you happened to type here on HNI do you have a link to that post by chance?
I would like to think now that I am older I have a good ear and willing to listen.;)

That's funny...but target panic isn't.

Davidmil may have the answer. I cured mine by not shooting. Just form practice. Then shooting at a bale with no target (form shooting with trigger use). Then shooting at large bull close. Then slowly backing up etc.

That's sort of the short version but missing the fine points. Bow fit is CRITICAL.

I've got a quick head fix for you.... works for several of my friends and customers as well.

Get out the old digital kitchen timer... and have a friend or your old lady or someone set it for an undisclosed amount of time (somewhere between 7 and 30 seconds). On their command of go... they will start the timer and you will draw and get on target.... keep your finger behind the trigger and float your pin over the target.... just aim.... hold on it until you either can't anymore or until the beeper goes off..... when it goes off... put your finger in front of the trigger and loose when you are good and ready.

Like I said... if you have a form flaw, or a bow fit issue then thats another baby... but its a good little confidence builder... some folks act like it is costing them $100 a second to have their pin on the bullseye or the target... this little trick helps you remember that its free and encouraged.

Man...I had this bad about 4 years ago and it took me a year or two to nip it.....What I did to work it out of my system and out of my mind was the following:

-Made a fist with my trigger hand
-Told myself that I was only practicing to put my pin on the bullseye....

After making a fist and getting comfortable with holding over the bullseye I was able to work it out....
