Can I hunt with a lens?
 

Some people say that you can and some people say you can't. What's the deal? I have a 4x lens on my sight and would like to use it to hunt black bear and whitetail. Is it legal or illegal?

I don't know if it's legal or not, but I don't see it working very well. It will be more of a disadvantage than it will be an advantage.

Not legal in Colorado during the archery seasons.

I had a 2x lens on my Viper sight a few years ago and it cost me a shot at a nice 8 pt.What happened was when I came to full draw and attemted to sight in on the buck,the sun reflection on the glasscompletely blocked my view.Couldn't see a thing with the sun at the angle it was on.Meanwhile this good buck is standing broadside at 15 yards in the wide open.Finally after the deer walked off I took the lens outright then and there and never used it again.That was the first season I ever tried a lens....and it has been the last.Didn't need it anyway;just wanted to try something different.I should've known:If it aint broke don't fix it.

Well I'm sure you could try but personally I've never been able to throw one hard enough to inflict any damage.... might want to try a bow and arrow...:D
