Quiver Noise Problems

What can be done to a quiver to reduce noise/vibration?

The quiver on my recurve rattles like coffee can full of nails when I shoot[&:]

Hip qiver, two piece quiver etc. One piece quivers are definitely noisier. Check to make sure all components of the quiver are screwed, glued or whatever tight. Sometimes the foam insert is loose. Make sure feathers aren't hitting each other. Sims stick on limbsaver type buttons can help.

Thanks, Ill try that, or something similar.

I guess the moral of the story is, you get what you pay for ($15 for that hunk of junk quiver)

Will I never learn???[&:]

I guess that you didn't go with the original kwikee kwiver? How loud is the bow without it?Brush buttons help with recurve noise also.

Yes I do have the Original Kwikee. It rattles something horrible.

Maybe it's the hood, I never had one on my bow. Does it grip the arrows tightly?

OKbowhunter... Kwickee quivers are notorious for that little spring that holds the lock in place making noise. Yes, it can sound like it's from the hood. The spring I'm talking about is the strip of spring steel that's hooked to the thumb release tab. It vibrates and sings like crazy. Hold it or bind it tight or take it off and slap the limb of your bow with the heel of your hand. Slap it first without holding the spring and then when you do. I'd be willing to bet it's the spring steel strip making the noise. They vibrate like a rattler.

davidmil,
I dont think its the Kwikee you are thinking of. Its the one made for trad bows.

RE: Quiver Noise Problems

Real simple solution. Don't shoot with a quiver on your bow.:)It's not a necessity. I only put my quiver on my bow (compound) for transportation purposes. When I practice it's off, and when I'm hunting it's off. I eliminate all possible noise makers!JMHO;)
