Easy Acsess Permanent Treestand
I am building a range in my back yard and would like to put up a stand. I am trying to come up with a stand that is easy to get in and out of repeatedly with arrows in hand. Any ideas?

Well if youre going to be building it build it right and get a set of stair trusses and build some stairs to the platform of the stand. You wont burn yourself out so bad and its much safer just to practice out of it.

That's what your wife and kids are for. Climb up, shoot your arrows and then have the wife or kids pull them out and put them in a bucket for you to pull up.

ORIGINAL: DropTine249 I set up a 20' ladder stand in the woods behind my house. Thats where I practice shooting 3-D. Make a quiver and attatch it to your haul line. You could also use your regular quiver on your bow, but using something with a greater arrow capacity is better when practicing. I like to climb my stand really fast and/or do some fast paced push-ups before I climb up. Anything to help increase my heart rate. That makes it more realistic when I shoot, because when the buck of a lifetime walks into one of my lanes- it is likely that I will not be "calm". |
