20,30,40,50 sight pin setup on sight?

I am setting my new bow up and to avoid a little trial and error I wanted to get a general idea as to how far my 30, 40, and 50 yard pins would be down in inchesfrom my 20 yard pin at the sight housing. My chrono is 278 shooting 100 grain tips and a total of just under 400 grains on my arrow.

This is a shot in the dark here kinda, but I am shooting a slightly heavier arrow than you but at about the same speed. I have a 5 pin set in 10 yard increments and all five of my pins from top to bottom are about an inch and a quarter.... thats all five of them... not 1.25" between each one.

Just walk back in five yard increments and you'll be just fine... if you jsut got the sight and the sights are all crammed together.. just space them out a bit.... maybe the width of a no. 2 pencil or so... should be a decent starting point.

Trial and error can be your best friend. Sure the errors are frustating, but once you get it down you will have the knowlege that you can make that shoot when it really counts.

plug and play my friend....setup your 20.....estimate yoru 30.....then shoot your 30.....get it dialed in, then match that gap from your 20/30, to your 30/40 if anything put that 40 just a tad farther than the 20/30 gap, and test your 40...and so forth....

My pins I'd estimate at 1/8" gap from 20/30,

Get an oversized target, so when you miss you don't shoot the neighbor's dog or something!
Trial and error will be your friend;)

Actually I would love to shoot my neighbors dog as the idiot won't shut up,[:@]. In all seriousness though I will do all of my pin setting at my work where mistakes will only hurt the dirt. I actually just went out and it will be very little trial and error to set up, thanks for the input. I tell you, I sure like the faster speed of my new bow as my little pins are a lot closer together. :D
