What part do you do best?

Out of all of the aspects of hunting what do you do the best in your mind?
Which part do you enjoy doing the best?

For me, I think that I guide/put buddies on deer/strategy the best. I seem to know where to put my pals when we have a group. Alot of times it means that I don't get my best seat, but I love getting the txt message or walkie call. The last two years I have put a good deer in front of the same hunter, much to the disapointment of some other guys in camp. I also put a new hunter on his first deer twice last year.

The part that I like the best is the preparation. The food plots, the minerals, the cameras, its all so much fun and makes the year go by that much faster. I like joining the guys up in other parts of the year for one common cause: to make the hunting and experience better in the fall.

I think my best atribute as a bowhunter is my ability to stay on stand for long periods of time/patience. No doubt.:)

I am best at drawing mosquitoes away from the deer, and have them buzz around my head all evening. That way the deer aren’t annoyed with them.

I most enjoy the drive to the taxidermist sometime around the beginning of November, then again in March.

Very considerate of you[8D]

For me, it would have to be the prep. I love planting plots/clearing for new plots, putting out minerals, etc. I just enjoy working the land (I think I have some farmer in me). If it means me taking a nice buck in the fall, all the more sweeter it is. If not, I'm ok with that as well. That and I think I'm a pretty terrible hunter:D

i spend far more time thinking of strategy and what not than i ever spend in the woods, and i get just as much enjoyment if not more enjoyment out of guiding hunts or taking kids out for their first bucks.

good post "bowtechben"

I'm good at scouting, bad at sitting still. 20 years of hunting and I still fidget around in the stand LOL.

1. Out of all of the aspects of hunting what do you do the best in your mind?
2. Which part do you enjoy doing the best?

1. getting close to big bucks. I see more big bucks then other guys in the areas I hunt. I'm not sure why. Luck maybe. Maybe I just see something different then the other guys when I scout.

2. I enjoy scouting the best. I love to explore new areas. I guess I'm always searching for that perfect spot. I also like the run and gun style of rut hunting. I love moving and calling. I am getting a little tired of the long sits. My run and gun style also puts me in front of more shooters.

Since I took up tracking it is by far the thing I love to do the best. But thats rifle hunting. My ultimate goal would be to track and kill a big one with the bow. I will wait until I get betterat it before I try the bow.

I'm better at archery than hunting.

I usually outshoot my buddies on the 3d course, but I suck at figuring out where the big bucks are. It might be because there just aren't any big bucks where I hunt, or maybe I just suck as a hunter. I don't know.

I think I see fewer deer than most bowhunters because I hunt high pressure areas. But when I do get a shot opportunity I almost always make it count.

I enjoy hunting more than the preperation for hunting. The hunt is what it is all about.

Im not sure what I am best at, none of the above? lol Ive just been having the hardest time the past two years putting myself in front of big deer. Before when I only rifle hunted I saw big deer every year, and allbut one came within bow range. Now that I started bowhunting, I have had much worse luck. The greater challenge combined with loosing good hunting grounds gave me just what I bargained for...I like the challenge. It will be oooh so much sweeter when I stick a decent buck and silence my buddies calling me crazy for holding out for the right deer.

I'm actually better at tracking and finding / following blood trails.

Patience for me! If I didn't have patience I wouldn't be able to be successful with my recurve.

I think I do the hunt the best. I cannot sit still for long periods of time, but I can take a step and then stand still for quite a while. LOL

With only a few perfect days in the season,I voted the hunt.I also love setting the kids up for some action.I figure I'll get 5 quality days for myself if I'm lucky to hunt the big one.:D

Been busy with work last few days....but I agree big bear....that is another aspect all together that I love. I enjoy hunkering down in the 'man room' and laying out the tools of the trade. I have always loved this. Every since I was young, I was packed for the cabin two weeks before the season. Nothing has changed.

When I was younger & good eyesight-trailing wounded Deer for others. I have had many knocks on the door with that request. Done it many times. Picking the right SPOT for my stand & my kids.

I adjust on the run to kill deer, based on hunter pressure and my instincts.

2. Which part do you enjoy doing the best?
I love dreaming about hunting and finally seeing a monster buck walk past my tree at 10 yards...yes, I love that part the best because it is what keeps me going back time and time again.

RE: What part do you do best?

I can say, totally objectively here, that I am one of the better trackers/bloodtrailers that I've ever met. Just comes from doing it a lot and being blessed with extremely good eyesight. I have the type of mind that does well finding and working out fine little details... so searching out a single drop of blood or scuffed leaf etc is right up my alley. I'm also patient and take my time to do things the right way.... most blood trails that get lost happen because of people (often too many people) going WAY too fast. If the deer is dead... he will still be dead when you get to him 60 yards away..... but if you lose the trail and he stops bleeding for 20 or thirty yards and you've tromped all over the trail... then if you find him its pretty much pure luck (and sometimes you need that).

Thats probably the one thing that I do extremely well when it comes to deer hunting.
