i was just wondering i need to put my time off in for the archery season here in pa and was wondering when would be my best days? in order for me to hit the peak of the rut of course. should i just use the halloween time again??

In PA it seems to be a pretty easy choice IMO..........the very first week to catch them on food before they are disturbed day after day. or the last week to catch the actual rut and the bucks put away their flashlights and night vision gear for a week or 2.;)

I have never hunted PA before, but here in the midwest Halloween is my starting point. Normally about a week after Halloween is when thing start to heat up and keep getting better and better until about the second week of Nov. If you only have one week, I would suggest going a touch later than Halloween.

My personal experience has been that the chasing seems to start around November 3rd (almost yearly - give or take a day) in my part of PA and that is when the hunting REALLY gets good. It also seems that by the last Saturday of archery here every buck in the neghborhood has disappeared and is locked down with a doe.

If you are looking to schedule days off the first or second week of November would be prime time to do so.

Halloween Week on. Last year, October 29th rattled in a 110" 8 point who got behind me and new something wasn't right and hung up at 15 yards. October 31, saw 6 different bucks, all cruising and fighting. Took a nice fat 7 point.

Years prior, I have seen bucks and have video of chasing from Nov 1 thru Nov 18th.

I agree with Matt/Pa, either the first week or last week would probably be best

I prefer the 1st week of november, but either one should be good.
