I have the Limbdriver, an no complaints, it works flawlessly..

But, coming from a Full containment style rest as the WB. And if your mainly going to be using it for hunting anyway... You might wanna look into the QAD rests that are full containment while being a dropaway.

I shoot the trophy ridge and it is flawless as well....I also have a rip cord that I will be replacing with a trophy ridge as soon as it comes in....

Hood advice, also look into Vital Bow Gear containment rests, I have been using them for 10 years now and NEVER had a problem! Made in the USA and a lifetime warranty!!!!!!!! :)

Trophy Taker Drop Away on both of my bows.

RE: Which Drop away

I have tried almost every rest on the market (QAD, Trophy Taker, NAP, Trophy Ridge, etc.) and I keep coming back to the Schaffer line of rests.

They are bomb proof, easy to adjust and once they are set you can forget about them because NOTHING will move. To boot, they are custom made for the Mathews and Hoyt risers and look very slick on the bow.

I have tried a lot of them and have more to look at, but so far for me I like the Quad ultra rest. I just like the features it offers, especialy holding the arrow in the upright position and the full containment feature. Muzzys and trophy taker shaker hunters are also good.

One thing to keep in mind about the QAD (and this is not a bash guys so relax) is that there are A LOT of moving parts such as the disc, brakes and so forth that could present an issue in the woods. Not that it is a bad rest by any means because I liked the one I used but I prefer to KISS.

Another Zero Effect fan here...

Although coming from the standpoint of a Whisker Biscuit user, you many want to look at the BowTech Hostage Pros... full containment in a package like you're used to, yet no fletching contact: the best of both worlds.

Phenonminal rest that is extremely to setup and tune!

i bought the QAD hunter rest after reading the reviews and i am displeased as it doesnt get out of the way fast enought. i still have a lot of fletching contact. i am going to try the hostage.

I am currently shooting a Whisker Biscuit (had no trouble with it at all) but was going to try a QAD Ultra rest just to see what all the hype was about.

Exactly!! I think the lack of full containment scares off several people from trying it, but I can honestly tell you after selling, using, and setting up several of the most popular models the Limb Driver is the Best IMHO.

Ease of set-up, consistent timing, and no resulting fletch clearance are the reasons. They will all work most of the time, but can be a PIA to get right at times. I would rate a few of the otherones mentioned in the following order.

1. Ripcord
2. QAD
3. Drop Zone
4. Trophy Taker

but like I said the Limb Driver is tops in my book. It's popularity is increasing all the time.

I am suprised no one has mentioned the Trophy Ridge Dropzone. It is easy to set up and a fairly quiet rest. I added a NAP arrow holder to my shelf and my arrow stays put until I draw the bow. (I never turn my bow upside down.) I lay it across the front edge of my viper stand and the arrow stays put. Just a real good dropaway in my opinion.

I changed from the WB to the QAD Ultra this spring. I had a friend manufacture a stainless steel bar to replace the plastic one(the full containment bar) because the plastic was too flexible. No problem now.
QAD is an awesome rest but I don't have any input on any other drop aways.

I use a Trophy Ridge Dropzone on my General. Works good, but I think it is loud. I took it apart and put some of that soft stick-on camo material under where the drop arm hits. Its alot quieter now, but I still think Im going to get a QAD Ultra rest.

RE: Which Drop away

I think you can get 100 different answers and they are all what the individual likes best, be it a Limb Driver, Muzzy, Trophy Taker, or a NAP, only you can really decide which one you personally like best. MOST are made pretty well. There certainly are a few that leave a little to be desired, but MOST are made fairly well.

I have a NAP QT2100 and TT Shaky Hunter Micro Adjust, and like both but the TT is a little better rest IMHO.
