which broadhead????

which BH would you choose if your DW was 54 and you DL was 25.
1. Muzzy 3 blade 125 grain
2. Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain
3. Muzzy MX3
Thanks

RE: which broadhead????

None of the above unless they were the only broadheads left on earth.
;)

RE: which broadhead????

Ditto, none of the above.

I would choose either a cut on contact three blade with a cutting diameter of 1" or less or preferably a two blade cot on contact like the Magnus stinger, Eastman first cut, Steel Force, Sonic Pro, etc... etc...

Afew others high up on the list would be Grizz Trick, Standard slick trick, NAP nitrons, Wasp BOSS bullet

With low draw weight and short draw, I would stick to 100grs or less. muzzy are ok and many people love them, but I also will never use them again. I really like rage2 blade. seem to fly better than fixed blades

Whats wrong with the MX3's? I love them!! All animals have dropped dead within 50 yards of impact.

The Muzzy 75 grain is a great flying BH with a smaller cutting diameter. The 1" cut Slick Trick would probably work well too.

RE: which broadhead????

I tell you what, the Steel Force Phat Head is a SHARP looking head. If I was looking at a COC that would probably be the one I use.

Millerhunter13: If you're willing to try something other than muzzy, I'd be more than happy to send a 100gr Magnus Stinger 2 or 4 blader, or a Wasp Boss your way. You can test the head and if you find it not to your liking, just pass it on. PM me if interested.
The MX-3's are the best thing Muzzy has going. The phantoms are fine, but will be a little more critical of bowtune and the shooter's skills.

My girlfriend is shooting 45# at 26" and I have her shooting G5 Strikers. Razor sharp, decent yet conservitive cutting diameter, and they fly very well off her Trykon. If we can find her a cooperative participant than we'll have a better idea of what they'll do.

RE: which broadhead????

My vote would be for a 100 grain cut on contact broadhead with that low poundage. If you wanted to shoot a muzzy i would try for a 75 or 85 grain head. In theory any sharp broadhead should work, but i would have more confidence in the penetrating ability of a cut on contact head.

A 25" draw is some what short but pulling 54lbs back makes up for that some in my opinion. The thing is what we should be asking is what size/weight arrows you shooting? Answer that and I'll give you my take on what to shoot.

RE: which broadhead????

weight is about 234 with out my 125 grain head, so about 359-360 with the head.

what about thunderheads????

RE: which broadhead????

I'd say a 100 grain cut on contact head will do the job easily. Even a cut on contact 125 grain broad head would be fine. Stick with a Cut On Contact 2 blade of some sort. Magnus makes some great 2 blade broad heads. There lifetime warranty also. Thats what I'd do.

RE: which broadhead????

MX3 100's...newer head at .025 blades, much stronger, super sharp and fly well on a tuned bow. great heads. if you don't want to spend the extra dough then the standard 100's would be just fine, little thinner blades, but they are very good as well.

Muzzy MX3.

Heck, that's what I'll be shooting this year at 65 lbs and a 29" draw length. ;)

^ i thought about those, but i really dont want a 4 blade. i have heard alot of bad things about them not stabilizing.

RE: which broadhead????

Slick Trick 100 gr magnums or standards. That's what I would use. If your bow is tuned with field tips, you won't have any trouble with these. I'm shooting 60 lbs.

miller, if you are anywhere near me, I'll give you one to try!
