The first mature buck (3 1/2)I shot with bow was this past season at the age of 16. I had been bowhunting since I was 12.

A "self-taught" person starting out now, has 100x more easily accessed resources than a self taught person starting out 25 years ago had.

An adult with the same quality teacher(whethera mentor or accessable info) I think has a HUGE advantage over a kid with the same amount ofteaching help available.

Yea, I just think there are too many variables to make any generalization. Everyone has such different backgrounds relating to hunting.

EDIT: It can be seen on a small scale in my family. I am the second of 3 brothers. It took my older brother 5 years to kill a mature buck, it took me 3, and my younger brother had 3 slammers down before he was 15 (started hunting at 12). I would like to think the knowledge passed down got better and better.
