RE: Targeting specific bucks

I've never told myself that I will only shoot this buck or that one. I did post in the other thread a photo of a buck that I've seen for each of the last 3 seasons and let's put it this way if he is at 75 yards and another buck at 10 yds, the latter will have to be big to make me not pass him over and wait for the other.

there is nothing more motivating or fun for me personally than hunting a particular deer.. its a rush when you kill the one you've worked towards.. not for everyone though nor should it be.

I have never passed a shooter buck to harvest another deer that I am "targeting". I do however really want to get to know a certain buck very well, and then take him. But... who doesn't?!:D

RE: Targeting specific bucks

I have killed one mature buck that I knew was in the neighborhood. However I was not specifically hunting that buck, just any good one that came by.

Actually I guess I should make that 2. The first one I saw crossing the road. The second one I got a trail cam pic 2 weeks before I killed him. Again not really hunting that particular buck. Just hunting a good looking spot.

I don't target a specific buck, rather a class of bucks. Mature bucks over 130" or so.
