Bow Shop/Shooting Range

Who goes to a local bow shop rather than the sporting goods store?
Why do you prefer one over the other and what do you expect out of the people that work there or own it?

I go to a bow shop for my bow servicing or when buying a new bow. I mix my smaller purchases up between internet orders, sporting goods stores, and the local pro shops. I know the people that run the pro shop know their stuff and trust their work. Also, you can't get some big name bows at a sporting goods shop even if you wanted to.

A pro shop is the only way to go. If I have a heart problem, I want a doctor that deals just in hearts.

Local shop. More expensive but sometimes you have to support those that are willing to help you out. They usually will not try to sell you crap also.

Funny but true thingsI have heard at Bass Pro Shops

1. Oh yes the .17hmr is powerful enough to kill big hogs.
2. The package deal is as good as all the rest for these bows.
3. All the broadheads are the same.

My friends girlfriend works at Dicks sporting goods. They change the department that she works in so she wont become knowledgeable about the products in there. Why you ask? Because if she knows to much about the department she will spend to much time talking to customers. No joke.

I like the bowshop over like Gander cause seems to me the big stores are pushed to sell certain items and half the time your talking to the wall! I know the guy I go loves the sport and thus the reason for him having a shop so i trust his opinion.

I go to a bowshop also. Have gottento know the owner really good the last couple years. I have done alot of business in there and am very pleased with all his work and help. It's the only place I will buy a bow.
