RE: What kind of tree is this..?

Well I should have added that my Forestry teacher said it was not a persimmon, and he now works for the State forestry department, so I dont think its a persimmon, but , all i had to show him was a twig, and dead leaf.

If i remember correctly the fruit is not always orange, seems like it was a greenish color for a while, i could be wrong though, thats why im asking,

It didnt bear any fruit last year due to a heavy frost i guess, so im going by memory.

This is pics of a persimmon tree in the back yard. The leaves are kind of velvet like to the touch. That tree does not resemble this really that much. The fruit does look close.

Depends on the size of the blooms. Lots of small white flowers/clusters would be a callery... which I think it is.

A persimmon has a bloom almost like a dogwood.... Don't have many of them in my part of VA... lots of dogwoods.. few Persimmons.
