Carbon Question
Not trying to start a heated debate here but was wondering why so many people prefer carbon arrows? I personally shoot aluminum and wanted to weigh the benefits of carbon. I don't need any more speed, I can just as easily lose a carbon as I can lose an aluminum in the woods (by the way my metal detector will pick up aluminums), carbons may not break as easily but will still break..and warp, my aluminums shoot as accurately as i could ask for, durability? I still have arrows from 20 years ago. Am I missing something as to why so many people prefer carbon?

RE: Carbon Question
Aluminum shafts are just as good as carbon, The only advantage (as far as I am concerned) is that they don't bend as easily (they have to be heated or defective)!! I still shoot alluminum's on a 3D course (line cutters)...They work just fine..let me give you an example: my daughter loves to shoot with me (she's7) and she loves to pull the arrows out of the animal targets, she has bent aluminum's where she can't hurt the carbon's.....(I dont let her pull the alluminum's anymore)

RE: Carbon Question
i use to shoot aluminum and then one day while practicing i missed and found a nice little rock in my yard right under the surface. good bye aluminum. i still can shoot a heavier carbon and get the durability i need for my terrain.
If you like your aluminum and it works for you then stick with it man. |

RE: Carbon Question
Thanks for the responses, from what you guys have given I see absolutely no reason for me to buy carbons.
