RE: My double bull pics.......brushed in
You did a great job of brushing it in. I used a T2 and a T5 DB for bowhunting turkeys this year. I made no attempt to brusheither of them in, turkeys never consider it a threat. I put them up one day in advance of hunting so I wouldn't be setting them up in the dark the following morning.
I put up a trailcam near both blinds, just to judge turkey activity when I couldn't be there. The first and second day I had several deer walk bywithin 20 yards. All looked, but none spooked. Could have shot many.By the third day as evidenced on my trailcams, the deer had accepted it, and now it was just another piece of the landscape, never even bothering to look at it anymore. I even practiced drawing without an arrow knocked, and could have shot several of them at point blank range. Put it up a few days in advance, brush it in to your liking, but just as important, leaving as little scent as possible while doing it, and you will be good to go. |

ORIGINAL: Bullet Hole Bailey Thanks guys! And thats awesome MichiganBowbender....did you ever get a turkey? Itore the miniscus in my right knee early on and had to cut my season short. On my last daybefore surgery, knowing I could never hobble out to theeither DB, Idecided to take the 870 to an easier access spot for me.I took a nice bird. 22 lbs, 10 1/2" beard. Last year I took one from the blind with the Mathews and it was an awesome experience for me. |
