NAP Scorpions
I keep seeing a banner on her eadvertising the NAP Scorpions but I don' t see anything on their website about them nor can I find anywhere to buy them. Where can I get more information on them?
Thanks, Mike |
RE: NAP Scorpions
I saw them at the ATA show & they look like a winner! I am sure you will be seeing them a lot in magazines in the very near future. It looks like a very good broadhead.

RE: NAP Scorpions
OB, Did you catch what size cutting diameter they have ?

RE: NAP Scorpions
Not sure on this but I think they are 1-1/8 - please don' t hold me to it! I saw so many broadheads at the show! really only a few really caught my eye.

RE: NAP Scorpions
From what information I have gathered they are 1 1/8 cutting dia. They have a cut-on-contact insert in the tip like the Sniper head. They use an o-ring system simmilar to the NAP Shockwave, which hopfully means they open just as quickly as the Shockwaves. It looks like a great setup to me.

RE: NAP Scorpions
Well from the info given and the looks of the head it is basicly an update shockwave with a cut on contact tip. That' s not a bad thing for sure. The shockwaves are one of the best mechanicals now on the market, and this new replaceable tip should improve the head. I will have to get a hold of some for testing, but I would bet they will do very well.

RE: NAP Scorpions
Hopefully the price tag will mirror the shockwaves instead of the spitfires. Looks like a good conservative mech. head, for sure.

RE: NAP Scorpions
My commentary on this design is that it appears not to offer too many advantages over a regular ShockWave whose tip is filed sharp. I used Shockwaves for a couple of seasons when I shot a compound and had great results.
Also, I chose not to use the O-ring; I found I had better, reproducible flight using dental/orthodontic elastic bands (similar to those on Steelheads) as a retention system. This arrangement is not sanctioned by NAP, though. just my 2 cents. Mark |
