That is a great video. Man, can they climb!

I had to wait until I got home from work in order to see it. My work computer won't allow photo's or videos hosted by photo bucket. [:@]

Thanks Rob

Thanks guys, I'm glad ya'll enjoyed it as much as I did.

Shultzy, our males don't truly hibernate during the full winter unless it's severe. The females of course will during birth.

A male may only crawl under a brush pile and come and go as necessary. As far as I know. That eating may or may not help keep their weights up.

I know not that far from me there was a bear tranq'd and weighed. It was a big male in the spring and the PGC said that if this bear was taken legally during the fall season, it would have been the new world record. (currently in NC). No one took that bear as far as I know.

Schultzy,
Bears definitely hibernate in New York State,The weather dictates when they go in and come out.I don't know exactly biologically but I am guessing an approximate 3 to 4 month hibernation, depending upon snow and temperatures.
I understand that bears (Boars specifically) will break hibernation in an unusually warm stretch in the winter and then go back in,when it reverts back to cold.I have seen good sized bear tracks in the snow in similar circumstances as mentioned.
Pennsylvania's weather patterns are similar to where I reside in New York.
