It's hard to tell if the port is at approx. the right height or not. I have hunted out of my Double Bull ground blinds and it is no problem. The windows are adjustable though.

At worst you might have to modify your shooting port;)

Some people here in Texas use them, but they run the windows vertically rather than horizontal....I have hunted some of these stands and they work as good as a double bull their just not portable....

I've bowhunted out of box blinds the last three years and killed deer every year. The only difference in my blinds and the one in your pic is ---mine is only 5ft off the ground---And my window looks like yours but I have a 18" wide by 12" drop window with hinges on the bottom, centered on the big window--This allows me to me too have taller shooting window.

Thats is why I built mine with the drop window--when bow season is over I just close the drop window.

Ain't had no problem with that,Though the inside of my blinds are painted black and I wear black--BTW my blinds are 4ft wide and 5ft deep to allow room to sit as far back as I can and still draw without hitting my right elbow on the back wall!

For lumber prices and time put into building one, you could buy a inexpensive ground blind that would serve your purpose much better. Check out Ground Max blinds fora saweet looking blind under 150.

do you think it would be better idea for me just to get a crossbow?

A buddy of mine shoots a crossbow out of blinds just like mine--Even though with my back as bad as it is I could get a crossbow permit easy--But there is something about gettin drawed back on a deer at close range that just gets me all jitterty.--I don't just hunt from blinds I still hang out in trees too! Thats your decision..
