Floods....hard on wildlife......

All of our river bottoms and alot of the timber here is FLOODED. I'm afraid that the turkey eggs and the new fawns aren't going to fare to well.......here are some pictures.

Yikes Lucan,

Floods can have devastating effects. We had a really bad flood in my area about ayear ago and as a result, some of the best hunting land was worthless that fall. Most everything that was in bottom land looked like it got hit by a hurricane.

Yeah, I would say that could be a problem. Hopefully the animals headed to higher ground to do their procreating.;) Good luck with a bad situation.

We got flooded here in Southwest Wisconsin 5 weeks ago and it took a toll on our fields. Half our 600 acres were underwater. It was a hell of a time to try and get it cleaned up. I hope your not to mad;)

We had major flooding this spring, closed many roads and put thousands upon thosandsof bottomland hardwood and farmland acres under water for 2 to 3 months. It was like a once every 50 year flood kinda deal. I got out where its dried up some and I saw a ton of deer and deer sign everywhere. I was very relieved to say the least, saw a ton of squirels too. They will be fine but they will have to go somewhere until the water goes down. Now, a few weeks ago we did find several turkey eggs that had been washed out of nest. Turkey population may be down some due to that in the next year or so.

It always floods here.... makes great Duck Hunting!

But its a ***** in the Spring when Planting season come in!

Yep, almost all of the bottom land here had either wheat on it, or they had just planted corn. A lot of farmers have a LOT of crops gone.

I guess I should point it out,but on the picture of the bridge, I bet the water is 60 feet deep under the bridge. The bridge is a fairly high one. At regular water levels, I am guessing that the water is 50 feet below the bridge. There is a TON of water coming down the river right now, and we barely missed out on another 3-4 inches of rain tonight, but it all went just to the south of us.....

I'm sure it'll be OK! There are areas her that Flood every year and hunting is always good unless it's flooded during season;)

Wildlife is pretty resilient!
