Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
I decided to take a trip to the foodplots this morning to check how they are doing with all the rain we've had here latley. Well as i crested the top of this hill, about 10 buzzards took off from this brush pile. I though to myself, I wonder what they were doing over there? So I marked the place in my mind and i took maybe 20 more steps, i herd something jumping around down in the creek bottom to my left and I saw a huge doe running up the enbankment to my left and then it hit me what was going on. I began wondering over to where the buzzards were, and I must have looked for about 10-15 minutes around this brush pile, and finally, I found what it was that they were eating. Whats even more upsetting about the whole situation is, this fawn was just dropped, I could tell and the kill had just happened maybe 30 minutes before I arrived i do think, the legs werent even locked up yet, all i found of the fawn was all 4 legs and the head. The eyes werent even hazed yet. Such a tragic waste, I think it was a buck because theres 2 black spots on its head where the antlers should be. Truly not how I was hoping this walk in the woods would turn out.

RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)

RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
It's nature and it's supposed to happen, upsetting but necessary.

RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
No reason to get upset,it is natures way and there are plenty of other animals that will benefit from it.
|
RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
its a shame to see, but its bound to happen, and has to happen
|
RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
my belief is that it was killed by something larger like a bear or something because the bones were bit clean in half. Maybe yotes? a Black bear maybe??

Thats to bad, I don't like finding stuff like this either. Allot of non hunters think Its weird but we as hunters all have huge hearts as well when we find stuff like this. Mother Nature is by far the cruelest thing one can be around, she's a mean one!!

What saddens me is predators wandering around all gaunt and near starvation.

Buzzards will kill anything newborn, if the mother or other herd cannot fight them off. I raise beef cattle and have seen them drawn to a cow thats down and start eating her alive, literally, from the rear end. Very frustrating, to say the least.

RE: Mother Nature Can Be So Cruel. (graphic)
Sometimes it's not pretty. But........ everything in nature is in perfect sync. The balance is perfect. Some live, some die. When us humans interfere things can get out of balance. Then nature steps in and shows us who is boss. Starvation and disease are far more cruel and graphic.
