RE: Mathews certification??
I don't know but I know Bowtech gives a course on how to service their bow etc. Don't know how long it is though.

RE: Mathews certification??
well I ask because the local hunting store in the next city over just opened an archery shop about a month ago and when they did they did not have anyone in there that knew how to work on bows. Now the two guys that were working there are now "Mathews Certified" ok explain to me....

RE: Mathews certification??
Yes Mathews does offer a class, my dealer sends all his staff to attend this class. He just came back from there this past Thurs. himself. They have also been to the one Bowtech offers as well. Pse has an excellent school as well.

RE: Mathews certification??
So it's just a few hrs and your done?? Certified?? geez man, and then shop advertises they have two fully certified Mathews techs. Wow. These guys are killing me. and that is for any company. I mean it's fine to have a class, but to hold one and then become a certified tech in one day, is this correct???

RE: Mathews certification??
Eh, most of the "pro" shops in my area don't impress me much, so I'm starting to do the work myself. If I encounter a problem, I ask here, and keep moving forward. I'm like this with my trucks, I may as well be just as sufficient with my bow work.

RE: Mathews certification??
I hear ya, Im trying to get htere as well.

RE: Mathews certification??
Please don't be impressed
But I am Mathews certified I also stayed a a Holiday Inn Express last night:D Mathews is a 2 day class It is a good class and I learned a lot but I was pretty green when I opened. The best thing that came out of taking the class is meeting Ole, he does know just about everything you could ever need to know about a Mathews (or other brands). He has been a big help to me on a couple technical questions. I get a kick out of techs or others that make it seem like working on a bow is some sort of "Black Magic" It's not that big of a deal if you have an understanding of how things work. Now I have to go stock up on chicken bones to have at the shop so I can roll them and "see" what needs to be done to make my customers bows shoot their best:D |
RE: Mathews certification??
The Bowtech course is $1,000 dollars I believe, and you get a bow at the end.

RE: Mathews certification??
and you get a bow at the end. Atleast the Mathews guys who get certified don't have to go and re certify that often. Seeing as how Mathews hasn't changed much in the last 10 years ;) |
