Homemade feeders
Well everyone knows the 4-6" PVC pipe feeders. My question is, anyone here so creative with an awesome homemade feeder? Please tell us all how you built it, pictures are always nice. I'll start first...
This is what I used 1x 10 gallon trash can with a screw on lid 1x powerade bottle 3x tubes of liquid nail 1x box of 6'' screws 2x 3'' peices of 2x4 1x BIG TREE! 1x silcone caulk 1x piece of sheet metal you can cut with shears. 2x 5'' string 2x support beams (sticks, wood, poles, anything that you can put a screw through... I used 2x4's I had laying around. 1x bag of corn First take your trash can lid and place it on a HUGE TREE screw it down to the tree so that the lid is facing out. Cut a hole in the trash can big around as a powerade bottle about 3" so that when you screw the trash can onto the lid the hole will be facing the ground... Cut a big nice size hole on the topside of the trash can so you can have an easy refill of corn. Now drill some holes in the trash can for easy rain drainage. Take the liquid nail and put tons of it around the screw part of the lid and trash can Screw the trash can onto the lid and place your 2x4's under the trash can let it sit for a day so it dry's... Now put liquid nail all over the outside of the screw part on the trash can so you get a nice and tight air seal... Take your powerade bottle and cut the bottem of it off. Liquid nail the powerade bottle to the hole in the bottem of the trash can and let it dry. Now look on the inside and caulk the powerade bottle and do the same on the underside. Screw your 2x4's w/e you got for support beams to the underside of the feeder. Put your corn in place the sheet metal over the top to help with rain and tie it down with the string... Thin sit and watch your feeder drop some corn and then jam so no corn comes out. One lucky deer will walk up and eat the corn and unstop the feeder and the process will continue! If you fill the trash can up it won't run out of corn for about a week but it all depends on how many deer find it. |

RE: Homemade feeders
Well my feeder works pretty well. I just wish I had a game camera so I could know how big the deer is. My old man has been feeding them for almost year and half since I've been gone..
