Envious again...

Im envious of you traditional shooters once again...you guys are without the worries of what I and othershave to deal with, and that's a complement! You have a gift and Im envious!!! I couldn't hit the broadside of the barn with one, much less kill a deer. I know you have harder learning curve, but once you got it, you got it. My hats off to yall once again, you guys are amazing!!

I don't know if you should be envious, but thank you for the compliment. To be proficient with any archery equipment is a great accomplishment.

There is nothing to be envious of coming from either direction.

Each has thier pros & cons. Neither is a gurantee over the other, nor is each some mystical thing impossible to figure out.

People over complicate compounds toa RIDICULOUS extent. I also think people over simplify trad gear as well. But that said, ANY reasonable person on these forums can set up and enjoy shooting either one. From there it is a matter of how in-depth one desires to get in order to obtain a hunting level of proficiency or even well beyond that. That's all.

Bob, I don't have thegonads to even try it!! Yoopermike, no sucking up, just facing the facts that trad guys are better....:D, NY/Al, what I meant was once you get the confidence to do it and get proficient, it seems most never go back to compounds.

I've had those times where I will not shoot over 15 yards. It don't happen consistently but it sure does happen here and there. There's days I can drill a quarter from 15 to 20 yards and there's days I can hardly do that at 10 yards. I'm very very picky on my shooting. If I'm not consistently hitting with in an inch of where I'm shooting while practicing chances are I won't be taking that distance of a shot that I'm having issues with hunting that evening. It can really get to you mentally shooting these Traditional bows if you let it. Normally thats a hang up on my part when shooting not so good. All in all I love shooting these Traditional bows and I hope to god I don't ever have to buy another compound for myself ever again.
