Elite releases '09's early.
 

A new cam design and 2 new models will be released on June 1.
The GT500 will replace the GTO and the Z28 will replace the Synergy XT.

Elite settled the suit w/ Datron and will not continue litigation. Hence the early release.

And of course I can't get the pics up. File too large. I will keep trying.

OH Boy guys..... My two favorites are coming together, muscle cars and bows.... I might justbecome an Elite shooter... seriously GT500 Z28??? those are some awesome names for a bow, Maybe they will come out with a SS version:D, Im gettin excitedly interested.

You would think this company would get their ducks in a line BEFORE releasing a product that was going to end up in a lawsuit......Maybe twice will be enough.

I'm sure after this suit , they covered their bases.
Elite descided not to continue fighting Darton for the patent infringement of the binary cam.. It was probably going to drag out and they had this new cam design in the works a long, long time ago.
The early intro. of the cam design was a monetary move. I would believe if they kept using the existing design, they would have to buck up $$ to Daton.
Elite probably agreed to stop selling it and moved on to this design.

yes, the cam design is original from Elite. And the best part is it's LEAN FREE

Sounds like a good bow, be sure to post up when you get it in.

I wont be looking for a new bow until atleast the 2010 lines though, probably later than that. I found one I like.:)

I will surely post a review. I've had a LH GTO ordered since jan. , so my order is way out front. I believe I will have it by the end of the month.
If I'm reading Elite's posts correctly, the June 1st intro. is for stock orders and sold orders will ship earlier. They've been dragging their feet on ship date's on the LH models. This is why. They never intended on shipping a LH GTO.The first GT500's will be LH.

Well I hope so, because I know they can turn out a very high quality product. It's their....for lack of a better expression.....business practices that seriously concern me.I can tell you without question I won't look at shooting one until one of 2 things happens....

1. They give me one.

2. They go a couple years w/out any serious, or re-occuring setbacks. I guess in short, right now.....I simply don't trust them.

Those cams look alot like the pictures of the Airborne cams on Bowtechs catalog. I would love to get my hands on one to shoot it.[X(]

They look similar, but it is a NEW system. They are a 2 track camsystem that eliminates can lean. It's a lot more like a dual cam than a binary.
I think it's considered a dual track binary. I'm trying to get more info. on this part.

Well they are headed in a different direction at least. I never did care for the goat. I had a 65 (289)Mustang, 84 Camaro Z28 (305), and a 92 Camaro Z28 (350).

When are they going to come out with the F150 built Ford tough bow? :eek:

2 track system sounds good but that cam system looks like a bear to draw,time will tell.

They HAVE to release their 2009 CRAP early in the year, cuz after everyone else releases their '09 stuff... they won't sell any. Early release is a marketing scheme that several manufacturers use when their having "troubles." Notice how ford released their '08 vehicles in like March of 07? That was partly to do with their lack of national interest in the '07 models.

Crap? They are over ordered now. With the intro. of this camsystem, I would bet that Elite will scare the pants off a few bow companies.
I don't know what company you're talking about. The only trouble they're having is keeping up with orders.

As for the early intro. , it was an unplanned move.The Darton suit forced thier hand. It would have dragged on for years.
Rather than pay Darton for the rest of the year, they put thier cam system out now and the suit was dropped.

I don't trash your bow. Have some class.

The dual track binary seems like an AWESOME idea. As long as they aren't infringing on patents on this one, they might be ahead of the crowd.

However, this is the trick, you think having a left handed bow on order since Jan is a long wait? I've had a LH "Ninja" GTO on order since November, when we picked up the dealership. At the time I thought I'd shoot one. I haven't canceled the order just because I want to play with one. I'll give them a call Monday, and I guess tell them to make my #60 GTO "Ninja" a GT500.

Wow those are some harsh words considering the waiting lists for their bows. Its well known that people have been waiting six months for their bows. If the people didn't beleive in their product so much, I am sure that they would just go to a different name brand.

I am still trying to decide if I am going to order one myself. The only hold up is the LH issue and the speed issue. The GTO's weren't getting anywhere close to the advertised speeds unless they were tweaked.

They already have. The LH GTO's were not built. ALL LH GTO's are going to be GT500's. In fact , you may have it sooner than you think. Elite announced a June 1 ship date on the LH GT500's. The lefties get the first run of the new bows. , the GT500 and the Z-28.
Actually , I think sold orders will be shipped a week sooner than that.

The new cam system is getting the top end speeds. NAd the LH models will be the first out. See my post above.

Yeah, the biggest killer for me was the speed issue. I have spent a lot of time over on the Elite forum and even their biggest fans are also some of the biggest complainers about the GTO's not shooting the advertised speeds.

Its like one guy on there said. Why should he buy a bow and then have to pay someone extra to "tweak" it to make the bow shoot the speeds it was advertised to shoot out of the box?

I like the almost 35" ATA aspect. I'd like to see them make a bow similar to the Airborne's, spec wise.

Judging by looks, these bows will get the speed, even though I know, the cam "looks" have nothing to do with it.

If/when mine comes in. I'll do a review, and see what we get. Mine is a 28.5" 60#. But I'm, probably going to make it 28" 70#

The GTO's didn't get the top end w/o some tuning. The fastest 30" GTo was tuned by Cracker's at 348fps. That took changing strings to a different length.
Reportedly, the new cams do the top end as reported by Crackers'.. They cams are DL specific which will make a difference.

THe BIGGEST problem the GTO's had were a bad batch of strings from Nealy. They supposedly heated the strands to hasten the stretch before making the complete string. The fibers broke down due to the 600 degree temp. they used. therefore bows were out of spec. out of the box.
The strings on the new Elite's are G5's. Still use Barnesdale limbs.

You're going to get it the way you ordered it initally. Cams are DL specific, but dealers are supposed to have a good supply of cams to do DL changes.
Of course , you don't have to take it.
Mine is a G1 camo28/70.

I hope the auto manufacturers don't become the next to sue them for using names like "Z28" which i'm sure are registered somehow. They seem to make greaty bows but have knucklehead lawyers.
