From August 15th to Dec 31st with all of my vacation time being a school teacher, I dont start school till Sept 4, and have big breaks over Thanksgiving and Christmas) I just counted it up ... roughly 45 whole days. ;)

not sure how it works out in whole days vs half days, but I usually spend about 100hrs a year hunting...

Probably 10 saturdays and another 10-15 workday afternoons... Some years I may take a week off and go to the midwest... Either way it always seems like I end up at 100 hrs give or take 20hrs.

Virtually all of the "whole" days I hunted were on the weekend and holidays. I hunted nearly every weekend from September to January. But I spent a lot of 1/2 days in the field on the weekdays.

A couple of weeks for Turkeys in the spring.
A week in NE in Oct chasing Mule Deer
2 1/2 weeks in IL. chasing Whitetails during the rut
Another week in Dec Mule Deer hunting NE. again

As well as a day here and there thrown in hunting Whitetails in IL. I wish I had more time but that's about all I can squeeze out.;)

I spend 4 weeks at the cabin each year just hunting! I do hunt A LOT of morning/evening hunts as well, 2 - 3 times a week 45 minutes from my house. Wisconsin season is from Mid Sept - 1st week of Jan just for deer, then comes Coyotes/Fox. Spring Turkey for 5 days. I work mostly split shifts so if I want to hunt I hunt! My life is centered around my son then hunting, I love it!:)

I arrange my schedules and vacation around hunting season. Every year I usually have the last week in oct. and definitely all of nov. off from work. I can hunt all day if I want almost evryday when it counts.

RE: How many "whole days" do you get to hunt?

"Whole" days don't exist for me, period. I workdays and my wife works nights, so there's never a"whole" day that I'm neither working, taking care of the kids in the evening, or like most days, both. I do, however, hunt nearly every day of the archery season during first light for anwhere from20 minutes to an hour and a half before work. There are afew Saturday mornings and weekdays that I can hunt longer after work. I usually won't take vacation time to hunt, at least in my home state, as that would take away from family trips.
