Stay away from the prime areas until the pre-rut.........then pop in and hunt the hell out of them, rotating your stand locations. Patience.

Joking aside, the best hunting advice I've learned here, is that there are many different ways of hunting an animal, and at some point someone will disagree with your "style"...but if it works for you...keep doing it.

I think this one of the biggest and most often mistake hunters make is going into areas like you listed way to early in the season!! Well said Shadow!!;)

The best hunting advice I have received did not concern hunting so much as how to set up my bow and arrow so that I would be confident in both to do the jobwhen I did go hunting.
