Shawn is tagged out in MO!
 

We had one of the quickest hunts that i have ever been on this morning.

About 5:35 am i hear Skyler pounding on my door: "Hey man, are we going or what? Its already 5:30!" I quickly jumped out of bed, woke shawn up and threw on my camo. We decided to hunt a place not far from home because we figured we could get there quickly and the birds werent usually roosted terribly close to where we set up.

6:00 rolls around and we are scrambling to get the decoy set up and get tucked away. Finally about 6:05 we settled in and heard a gobble. It was CLOSE and right over the hill on the ground. It wasnt 2 minutes later and we saw the bird come over the top ofthe hill. He immediately came running in to the decoy at 20 yards and hovered over it. Shawn was waiting for an opportunity to draw while the bird just pushed up against the decoy and pecked his head. Finally he started to make his way around the decoy and Skyler was able to pull the fan up. This really made him mad and he started kicking the decoy like crazy giving Shawn an opportunity to draw. After the bird moved away from the decoy Shawn shot. The hit was low and in the leg. I guess you could say he gave 'em the Dink special! :D;)[8D]The tom hobbled off into a ditch and we were able to quickly get a second shot.

It wasnt the best, but we got it done. I guess thats part of turkey hunting with a bow...

Nevertheless Shawn is done in MO and we are headed to Nebraska this weekend!
