Heckuva a nice deer - I have 2 around that size since I moved here 10 years ago - couldn't get a shot on either was bowhunting during rifle season

Wow, thats a great buck Jeff, and that yote looks well fed to say the least. At least you that it is possible to gte a trophy close to you. Too bad you arent a few counties East and closer to Big Daddys, I saw some video he has of some incredible bucks and lots of them.

I don't ever claim that there aren't large racked bucks in my area.....we just don't have an abundance of them.
He's a dandy for anywhere....but a giant deer for my county.
As for his age....I have photos of the deer I shot last year in August....and with his summer weight and features....he doesn't look like a 4.5yr old, either. They go through some real changes in the months leading up to the rut. The buck in this thread was shot very early in our season (I think, opening day....but I'm not certain).
