RE: What Should I do, Caught DNR Stealing My Stuff???
thanx yoopermike....finally someone else CAUGHT the same thing i did...
i still say there is absolutely, positively NO WAY to prove he took anything. you have proof that he was on your property. other than that, you got nothin. period. no way to prove when that card was taken from the camera. end of story...and yoopermike is right on...pushing the issue is going to be like soaking matches in gasoline before you light them...just aint a good idea.
just because his picture was the first one taken is NOT any proof at all that he took the card.
hows this...MAYBE just MAYBE someone DID tresspass, poach a turkey while the officer was driving the road. he saw the vehicle, parked to listen..heard the shot...talked to the guy at the vehicle and he said he had permission blah blah etc...the officer got a funny feeling about the characters actions so follows his direction of travel back into where he heard the shot...theres a feeder there...and a trail cam. BUSTED! he says to himself! and he took the card hoping it has pics of that guy shooting the turkey over the bait. after running the guys plates and license info, the officer has his name and info...he can/will find out he was also trespassing.
hows that for a PERFECT example of how you could be 100% wrong...but that aint my point.
you could be 100% right on and he very well may have stole it...but that aint my point either. my point is you cant prove anything and need to let it go....
best of luck with your decisions....

Most spot-on post so far, mauser.
I too would like to know how this turns out. Please be sure and give us an update when it reaches a conclusion, Hank.

you may want to check your laws on feeding wildlife, but here in Kentucky, feeders have to be removed 30 days prior to the opening day of turkey season. If that be true there he was in violation. Still doesn't give him the right to take the feeder or the card. I'd be getting ahold of DNR for some answers, if that didn't work I'd put out those rakes!
