In NJ, everything is so darn expensive, you couldnt live here, semi-comfortably,unless you make 80k or more.

With that said, NJ salaries may be averaging in the 100k range, but that doesnt really mean anything...because we have to spend more. The economy is so freakin upside down here.

We had guys working for our company, payed $26-$32 hourly for a skilled & experienced carpenter. A few years ago, they were doing well, now, at a relatively similar salaray, they can barely afford fuel to get to and from the shop in the morning. What a State !
Not to nitpick but 26-32 per hour certainly isnt in the 100k range, not even close really. On a forty hour week, this comes to a total of54k to 67k per year, and thats before taxes.;)

Im willing to bet that nowhere in this nation is the average income anywhere close to 100k.

I bring in 6-10k per year, but Im only 17, so I guess it works out.

I have no idea how much I make a year until tax time and my accountant tells me. You see my wife does all the corporate stuff/quarterlies, payroll etc... Hell I don't even see my paychecks![&:]:DShe just tells me to sign the back and deposits them in the bank.

Now, I know what my company makes a year as I do the billing. I also know what my accounts receivable is![:@]I have no reservations about telling you I checked 75K Plus box. Mysalary plus the yearly investment earnings from themoney I made in the NFL (believe it or not I didn't blow it all;))puts me over the top of the poll. I do know I won't be seeing a stimulus check either.

I'm neither embarrassed nor boastful about my earnings, I live modest and work very hard and very long hours (70-80hrs per week) to provide for my family and hopefully I will be able to give my children a nice nest egg before I leave this world.

One year away from receiving my Juris Doctorate (law degree). I will leave law school with zero debt which is amazing. Hopefully I will get a plush first job. The firm I have been interning at has shown interest in hiring me, start out around $120,000... Not bad for 25 years old:) .

Huge paycheck, no debt from school, and in your mid-20s. Man, you suck.;) What a great situation to be in. Good for you.

I have worked my butt off to get everything I have, and I may not have a mansion or drive the fanciest car, but what I've got is good enough for me. Some of what is up there is deceptive too. If you live near a bigger city your salary will be hire, but so is the cost of living. I know if I lived in a smaller town in PA but made what I do living outside of Philly I could live like a king. As it is I'm just a small fish in a big pond, but I'm perfectly fine with that.

The stimulus phase out for married filing jointly is $150K, so this poll really isn't relevant in that regard since many of us are married and file joint returns.....

I used to make more but then I opened an archery business:D
In 06 our combined income was about 115,000.00, my share of that was 82,000.00
In 07, after deducting the business loss/expenses our combinedincome was 13,500.00[:o]and my wife made 35,000.00 or so.
So I/we went from the top of the scale to the bottom in one year! How's that for a ride?

No slam on the thread. There are some interesting figures, but here are my Thoughts:

I personally judge a man by much more than how much $$$ he brings home a year.

I have shared hunts with some real Arses. Although most guys Love of the hunt makes them compatible instantly. Some were rich, and some I am sure were just working guys like me.

Some of my friends make 6 figures a year, while others are close to poverty level. They all have one thing in common. I can count on them if/and when I need help. They can count on me also.

I think too many people are judged by the $$ they make, the house they live in, the car they drive, the clothes they wear, etc., etc.

It shouldn't be that way!!

I do not differentiate between my friends, they're just my friends, and I don't mean that lightly. Friends are definitely invaluable!!;)

The W2 said that I cleared $17,500 last year. Which if any of you live in Tidewater VA... you know that ain't hardly enough to live on. With the price of fuel now, I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. For whatever reason, they keep cutting hours at work, and they laugh when we talk about a raise, no matter how great sales are. Can't believe I went to college for this.....

buckmaster, I honestly didn't read every post and have no idea or clue if anyone was judging or not. Not the point, it's just the talk of salaries caused me to think of things I see day in, day out, week in, week out. People being judged for one thing or another.

I just put my thoughts down to maybe cause one or 2 to think.

Hunting is definitely becoming a wealthy man's game more every year. Higher Gas Prices, higher and more leases, everything across the board will soon if not already reflect the unreal rise in fuel cost over the last year or so.

What in America is not dependant on Gas or Diesel to get it from point A to point B. It goes without saying everything will be going up.

Didn't mean to interrupt a meaningful thread during the offseason. Carry on!!;)

I have never been able to figure out why in the world is it such a big deal how much a man makes. It's always hush, hush. Why is that, who cares? My family, my off time, and my hunting is all that matters to me. I could give a care less about anything else.
