Deer on 2 legs
Just logged on to RDHC's deer cam to see if there were any deer at the feeder and one of the first images to come across was the one below. I've never seen a deer stand on it's hind legs in person. Anyone else?
Why do they do it besides he obvious of reaching high branches? |
RE: Deer on 2 legs
I have. They do it to reach fauna they can't reach on 4 legs.
I watched a BB stand on it's back legs to reach a licking branch, once, too. I don't think it's that unusual |
RE: Deer on 2 legs
there is still a few on there now

if u bait you'll see it quite often... at least i did when i used to bait corn in piles... does would get up on hind legs an hit each other with there front legs... especially if one group of doe's came in then another usuallya deer from each group would "spar" so to say... very very entertaing

RE: Deer on 2 legs
Not unusual, unless it puts on an orange vest and picks up a rifle

Interesting stuff!
I've never hunted in a state that allowed baiting, so no experience with it. |
RE: Deer on 2 legs
I shot a large doe a couple of yers ago that was having what appeared to be a slap boxing match with another doe 25 yards in front of my stand. I'm not sure if they were fighting over the general area but she stayed and I made sure I did my part;)

I'm not sure I know who the winner was, but I shot the one that stayed by the stand while it was feeding.
