No turkey but a great morning.

I was after the turkeys again this morning. Had him at about 70 yards but that is as close as he would get. You talk about frustrating.[:@][:'(][&:]Then I went for stroll and came upon this in the road I just had bulldozed thru my woods.

I believe it was used to scrape hides, not really an arrowhead or spear. More of a tool.

Then I found my first shed on my new property. A couple of years old and really chewed up, but cool anyhow.

Oh yeah, and along the way I managed to find these too.

231 of them to be exact, my best day ever by far. Everywhere I went I would look around and see mushrooms. It was just amazing. Best before was last Sunday when I found 77. They weighed in at 10 1/2 pounds. jmbuckhunter's gonna be eating good tonight.

I am gonna dehydrate a bunch of them to eat later too. Just soak em back up and just like fresh picked.

Now I just have tofind time to hang those darn stands.:)And get a turkey for the team, maybe tomorrow.

Hey buddy I have some turkey advice for you:

1. You're not supposed to hang a stand at the roost tree, you can leave those treestands at home :D
2. It's obvious that your very efficient at finding small, stationary things on the ground... unfortunately turkeys don't fall into that categor.
3. It's difficult to be camouflaged when you're carrying a Hefty sack full of mushrooms around!!!:D:D

Just kidding bud, glad you had a good morning!!

John,,,funny we were just talking about arrowheads at your house the other day :DThat is either a scraper tool or more commonly a cashe blade. cashe blades were roughed out and cashed in hiding for napping out the points when ready. nice find though, its a bigin ;)Dam thats alot of mushrooms, your making my mouth water :DIt seems that everyone i talk to in my area is saying the same thing about the turkeys not cooperating as well. keep at it Mr. ;)

I've made wild turkey marsala before and it's great, I bet it's even better when you find your own mushrooms.
