The perfect stand site
I was chasing aftera gobbleron afarm this morning that I just recently got permission to hunt. It's a gorgeous place! 150 acres,50/50 field/woods. The 2 fields aredivided by a tree line that runs the entire length,about 10 yards wide. I saw the gobbler near that tree line about 150 yds. away, so I ducked to the other side of the line and hauledarse to close the distance. In the process of my wind-sprint, I jumped 4 deer out of that row of trees [:o].At least 2were bucks, one of which, left a print nearly 5" long. I see alot of big deer here in OH, but the body on this guy was amazing! Especially for this time of year. I know a guy who killed a typical 12 point, itscored 209 . . .less than a mile away;). So needless to say, immediately following turkey season, it's 2 cams and 3 stands . . . and a seriously long wait 'till October! [:@]. . . oh, p.s.- i missed the gobbler :eek:lol
