Does the prices of Gas affect

Your woods time this time of year? Do you find yourselves not making as many trips as you would because of gas prices? Wherei'm at in Louisiana it has hit 3.47 a gal. What are you guys/gals paying and where are you located?

Count yourself lucky I'm paying $3.65 and form what I understand it's getting ready to raise again. If it doesn't come down I'll definately be hunting closer to home.

We're paying $5 a litre in Scotland. I've cut down alot of casual driving because of it but things are so close together here which helps plus public transport.

I think everyone in Americaare lucky that your prices aren't through the roof like here. [:'(]

$4.15 here and only going up. It isn't affecting my hunting any but it is definitly impacting my fishing with it costing over $50 just for the closest spot to town there's no more short after work outings.

I has definitely affected turkey season already - didn't scout much, and I have recently traded in my Jeep wrangler which was hitting about 12-13 miles to a gallon for a small truck at about 22 miles to the gallon - I miss the jeep but not the $120 week gas bill

Gas is $3.60 a gallon in my area. It doesn't hurt me yet because I'm not really going to the woods much at all. However, next week I'm going to central Pa to do some native trout fishing, so it will be a different story then!![:@]

Right around 3.80 here, of course it will force me to cut down on my trips, but also helps me save time by planning ahead and taking everything i need so there are no trips home. It seems like it would have to effect everyone somehow...

Its not the price of gas thats hurting me, it's the 16 miles to the gallon that sucks ;)

RE: Does the prices of Gas affect

It doesnt help the fact that most of us drive big trucks and the gas mileage sucks[:@]

My furthest hunting spot is ~20 miles away and the closest is 4. While it doesnt affect my hunting that much, on the day when Im trying to choose whether to go to the close spot of the further spot, it makes the choice alot easier;)

Yes it does affect my scouting this year I am not going to my privates hunting areas as much. I am staying more close to home now.
Just seen a gas station today go from $3.69 to $3.85 for unleaded.[:@]

It might affect my overall deer hunting in the early season. But, the bottom line is, I live for hunting gobbling turkeys, rutting and late season whitetails. I agree with the above, I will cut out other things, but not hunting.

RE: Does the prices of Gas affect

It really doesn't affect me. Currently gas is around $3.70. My ford Ranger has around a 17 gallon tank, if gas was $3 a gallon that would be $51. No its at $3.70 which is around $63. Its only a $12 difference and has no impact on my wallet. I still drive the same and will continue to through the summer even if it gets over $4 a gallon. But this is just me. I will say gasoline prices will cause a gap between the upper-middle class and the poor, the truth is paying 12 more bucks at the pump is no big deal to many, but for others it is bankrupting them. I'm just lucky i guess, but there needs to be some sort of government help on this issue (it hurts me to have to want government as a solution [:@]).

3.50 here in Virginia. Fortunately I hunt right at home, but it will make a big difference in the number of times I'm able to travel home from school in order to hunt.

Maybe if McCain is elected he'll cut the gas tax briefly (yikes, what an awful awful idea[&:])

Gas Prices

Well it'll definitely affect me as the price per liter is 130 x4 equals $5.20 a gallon,Dang glad I bought 2 game camera's,they'll take the burden of driving the 20 miles 3 times a week to scout ans free up my time for family time.

RE: Does the prices of Gas affect

It's 3.50+ per gallon at most stations for me... Last year it didn't affect me that much, I did save a couple of hundred bucks before hunting season, so I had some 'extra' gas money to use during hunting season.

Will try to do the same this year, but it will probably affect how I hunt some. Instead of heading out for 2 and 3 hour hunts some days, I may cut down on the number of trips and just hunt longer...
