Patterns such as Enigma, Predator, ASAT, Skyline are going to be your best bet for the area you showed. Realtree AP is OK, but it still has a bit of a blob effect. It all boils down to how much you are willing to pay. The open patterns are usually more, but are the best IMO for any terrain. I use my Enigma year round for turkey in the spring and deer in the fall. ..

I like your idea with the trees there however have you tried younger trees? Maybe 2-4 year olds?
