When do y'all.....
Set out your trail cameras, and what type of areas are you setting them up in?

RE: When do y'all.....
you should always have them up. that way you see if you have any new deer or which ones you could get to stay there.

RE: When do y'all.....
I use mine for "inventory" purposes, only. I put mine over a mineral lick a few hundred yards from where I hunt. I just want to know what's in the area I'm hunting. I've put them other places in the past.....but I've thought, since, that too much activity in the area CAN'T "help" (ie. checking cameras).
What deer are in my area during the winter and while they're not carrying antlers doesn't interest me, personally. I wanna know what's made it through to hunting season. I'll set mine out in June, sometime.....and pull them after the2nd-3rd week of August. That'll tell me all "I" wanna know. |

I put mine out in August and leave it out until after the rut. I like to see what bucks are moving around my general area when theyare more mobile/visible.;)

RE: When do y'all.....
we use them year round as we have a lot of exotics that means there will always be something carrying horns. As for where, depends on the time of year, right now we have them on mineral/protein feed sites that we don't hunt. Last week I put one on a live spring I found in a draw about 100 yards in the brush from my main hunting site. I am expecting to see some good animals there as it is starting to get warm and we don't have a lot of water on the ranch, so this live spring should be a good spot. I also hung a stand there last week....During season I will move them around to new trails or scrapes/rubs......
