I wouldn't know why the Lone Wolf would weigh 21 lbs. Other than the new seat I believe the stand is the same. True weight should be 18 lbs.

I need to add I'd like to see the new in person because from the picture that new seat sits very low in relation to the side rails..........something I simply hate on a climbing stand. Maybe its adjustable as to where a person can sit higher.

Iread 70+ reviews on Cabela's (great info asset).
Most of them mention the Lone Wolf's lack of comfort and rave about the Razor's comfort. A lot of folks installed the Summit seat on the Lone Wolf stand...
I am going to look at both this weekend at Bass Pro and decide if carrying the extra 3-5 lbs is worth it.

kwilson16- I chose the sit and climb over the hand climber because of the back rest. I actually just got my stand in the mail today even though they said not avaliable till may 1st. Seat is very comfortable. and remeber all the reviews were the old seat design. This is the new one. And im no small guy. 6'2 and 270 lbs

I bought a New Lone Wolf Sit and CLimb last year and I can hunt all day in it, no problem. It may not be as comfy as a summit, but to me it is more than enough. For a good solid, quiet, and light climber it is the best IMO.

5 pounds on a 1/2 mile hike should not be an issue.

May be a little excessive is in order ?

The comfort,stability and set up of the Summit should be the deciding factor.

I am not bashing you but humping ANY stand is a chore.

Something I do to help get in shape is, I take my stand with me when I am doing my scouting.

A bit of a PIA but it helps me get in shape.

As I get older I worry more about dragging a 140lb deer OUT a lot more than dragging a stand in.

I spent a lot of time changing the straps and such to make the stand easier and more comfortable to tote.

Getting the fit right makes a huge difference on carrying any pack or stand long distance.

Thanks for all of the advice. I have learned that Simmit also makes a 14 lb'er called the Openshot. Furthermore, Ameristep makes a lightweight climber called the 'Non-typical Hitman' as well as a slightly heavier version called 'Stinger' with a larger platform. There are several 'Non-typical Stinger' stands listed on ebay with the lighter, 'Hitman' weights/dimension in the description. The price is very reasonable ($119) and it looks like a good stand but I can't the lister to resolve the issue of the incorrect, lighter weights in the description[:@].
