This ones for you Buckeye(My Property)
Buckeye chewed my a$$ out the other day for not posting any new pics of my property and keeping him up to date on it. So here is a picture tour of "Sugar Hollow". That's the area my property is in so that's what my daughter calls it.
First an aerial view. ![]() This is the creek crossing to my place and a few pics of the creek. It's pretty much dry except right after a rain. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My new road connecting my upper and bottom fields. ![]() You can see my truck at the bottom. ![]() Room for a small food plot here too. ![]() A couple of shots of the bottom field. Lots of ridges lead into this field. It is 5 acresin crp that I amconverting into Native Warm Season Grasses this spring, with a 1 acre food plot. ![]() ![]() ![]() The upper field, an overgrown 5 1/4 acrehay field. I will be planting half in Warm Season Grasses and half to food plots. ![]() ![]() ![]() Just some random pics of the many hills, ridges and hollows. Down the ridge. ![]() To the right. ![]() To the left. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mother Nature the engineer. This tree fell over and made a damn with it's branches. It is holding back about 4 feet of water. This is a different creek from the one I cross to enter my property. ![]() ![]() Yes there are turkey here. They just aren't ccoperating. ![]() This is the spot everyone wants to put a stand. It is the head of a huge hollow that the deer havewalk around. There is a pretty good trail going around the top of the ridge here. I think it will be a major cruising area during the rut. ![]() |

ORIGINAL: buckeye Looks great John! About time we got an update [:@][8D] Do you have any stands placed yet? How many definite sets do you have picked out so far? No stands up yet, but I do have a few shooting lanes cleared for my climber. I mostly use my climber, but I pulled a couple stands from the farm I used to hunt last weekend. I will put a few up here in the right spots. I have lanes cleared at 3 spots, and plan on having at least 4 or 5 more ready for the climber. There are just so many funnels, I couldn't hunt them all in one season. I need to see what the deer do when the crops are in too. They had a bumper acorn crop out there last year. And the deer and turkey are still rooting up the woods after them. All those green fields and no sheds? I can't believe it The bottom field is mostly fescue. Not much deer food for them there. That is why I want to redo it. And the top field has just greened up in the last week or so. |

ORIGINAL: mobow Man, I knew you were gonna put a road up that hill....but you didn't say a damn thing about a 4 lane interstate.....:D Looks good man, now you can get up there. ;) Plus this way I can make a food plot out of it too. Should be enough sunlight for some clover and chickory to survive in there. And I'm sure it will start closing in as the trees grow towards the sunlight. |

No that farm is about 4 miles from this place. Just started turkey hunting here. Haven't deer hunted it yet. But I am familiar with the area. That stand is an old homemade wooden job. About to fall out of the tree in the next storm. |
RE: This ones for you Buckeye(My Property)
