Cold Hands!!

Hey all, I am a relatively new bowhunter and am currently in the process of purchasing new hunting gear for the upcoming bow season and need some advice or opinions on something. I always have a hard time staying on stand in the late season (here in WI) because my hands get cold or I always am fumbling because I have big thick gloves on.

So I was just wondering what sort of gloves/mits or whatever you bowhunters wear when you use a release and have to have the delicate touch of the trigger of your release? Do most of you wear thick gloves or glomitts and take them off when a deer is approaching or thin gloves and keep your hands in a muff or what? Thanks for all your help!!:)

I actually wear light gloves, but use a hand muff w/ hand warmers to keep my hands warm.

I agree, but I will wear a heavier glove on my non release hand.

I wear a heavier glove on my left hand and jersey with finger tip partially cut-off, so I can slip it off when a shot arises...oh yeah, that pint of jack will help keep you on stand a little longer it does me-

I agree, and if it gets super cold you can always use one of those hand warmer packets

Gutting a deer keeps your hands warm, but otherwise anything that doesn't make your hands sweat. I layer with a thin pair of gloves with mits, that works for me at least. I'll just wear the thin gloves with my release strap over then throw the mits on and slide them off when I see something coming.
