A lot of the things already mentioned are aplicable to me also..but what governs bowhunting for me is the constant question - am I having fun? It is really the one absolute line I draw. If I am not enjoying it anymore...I take a break. There is no reason not to.

The greater the sacrifice the greater the reward.

To me, the harder I work for an animal that more I appreciate the hunt. Doesn't matter if I don't kill something. The harder I bust my ass, the happier I am. If I know I pushed myself to my limits both mentally and physically and didn't give up, I'm satisfied.

mine....

" wait for the right shot "

Being, only, a 2 y.o. bowhunter, I get so damn nervous when I see horn. Still trying to get a bit of control over the buck fever...

This is good.....and it's why I bowhunt, exclusively.

I just want to walk away from each experience and know I took that animal on my terms.......or feel fine with not taking it.

"Creed", or "motto". What is that one piece of advice, or saying you keep in your mind when you are bowhunting (any animal).

Personally I like:

"Aim small, Miss Small"
"Pick a spot"
"Aim Low" (bowfishing)

I'm sure we'll hear some clever ones;)
Good approach Kyle!! When I'm drawing back on an animal I tell myself hit your anchor and don't drop your bow arm!! I drill this stuff in my head all the time when drawing. If I do everything correct its a dead animal 10 out of 10 times.

Mine's an old polish joke.

How does a polish guy swim across a lake?

He swims half way across.. then swims back.

It reminds me everyday.. to not be the polish guy. Do it right. If your going to sit in a tree for the next 5 hours.. then do it right.. otherwise whats the sense. Swim across the whole lake.
I agree with Duke on this one also. I put my all into it when I'm hunting. If I wouldn't I could just as well stay home. 95% of the time I put my all into the hunt, I am guilty once in a while of not doing that and it usually ends up with nothing good to talk about. You get what you put into your hunt!!;)

"Pick a Spot"

"Anchor, Aim, Release"

Above all - "Try, Try, Try" I may not be the most skilled, experienced or gifted one at my trade or hobby but I can succeedif I don't quit. I believe Ike Sankey (anyone know of him??) said of riding bulls: 'don't let go until your head hits the ground twice'. I relate that to whatever I'm doing.

I don't really have a motto or creed. I do have this taped to the inside of my riser facing me:

P
A
S
A
F
T

It reminds me to "Pick A Spot And Follow Through."
