Its three days out of 4 weeks, I don't see it being a huge deal. And you get to go on vacation. If hunting is that important to you that you even need to think about this your probably not ready for that serious of a relationship. And that is exactly what her parents will tell her while she is on vacation and you are hunting. And then it will most likely ruin her vacation as well.

I've been married and divorced, take my word for it and go on the vacation and don't say one word about missing out on hunting.

I'm still tryng to figure out how a Summer vacation cuts into deer season...but anyway, it's the first three days - go on vacation and you'll have all the time you want when you get back for making the sacrifice.

I kind of have a similar relationship that you have going on. We are 22 and have been dating for five years. When we get married it will be in the month of October. She promised me it won't be the first two weeks (bow season starts the first weekend in Oct);)

Give and take

Go on the trip

Is it OK for me to answer this since I am a female?

Here goes:

I can definitely see it from both sides. 08 will be my second season of hunting, so I realize how very anxious you become for the first day to arrive.....

HOWEVER............(go on the vacation....you will be glad you did:))

I'll tell you what to do. Go to your future father in law, pop him in the teeth and in the same motion grab him by the throat. If you do this correctly and without hesitation you will have his complete attention. Torque his neck to about fifty foot pounds. Look him in the eye and tell him if he ever schedules a family vacation in Oct. again he will be taking a three legged walk to the local emergency room and you will be hopping right behind him. Reach up and pinch his cheek like his grandma used to do and walk away.

If you’re not married or engaged and she wants 3 days now, what’s she going to want later? Some thing to think about.
