Blazers vs Feathers

What kind of a difference could I expect. Right now I shot Epic 400's with my Hoyt Trykon. It is set a about 68#. The pro shop I go to has the same arrows I use now, but with 2" blazers. Now I am using feathers. I am just wondering if it would be worth switching. I need to buy new arrows anyway, and the ones with blazer vanes are on sale and actually a couple of bucks cheaper.

I did a test on this a couple years ago. I fletched 2 identical arrows, one w/ 5" feathers and one w/ Blazers. I tipped both arrows w/ a Magnus Stinger, and shot them into a deer target. The 5" arrow was shot first, and the second, fletched w/ Blazers, sliced a feather off of the first arrow. This was @ 25 yards.

I SHOOT BLAZERS NOW I SHOT FEATHERS FOR 30 YEARS AND SUFFERD FEATHERS IN THE RAIN FALLING OFF MAKING NOISE AND STILL LOVE THERE LOOKS AND LOVE PUTTING THEM ON ARROWS BUT THE BLAZER ARE SO MUCH EASIER.AND THEY STABLIZE AN ARROW JUST AS GOOD AS FEATHERS I WOULD HAVE NEVER USED THOSE LITTLE THINGS THINKING THEY WERE TO SMALL A FREIND TALKED ME INTO IT I WAS VERY SCEPTICLE GLAD I DID THOSE LITTLE THING WORK GREAT AND I DON T KNOW WHY

If they are fletched with some sort of offset or helical you sholdn't notice any difference at all really. Providing you get good clearance with them. My Blazers fly just as well as my feathers did with the same offset.

Ive used both, and there is really no difference....the blazers are more durable IMO

I should also mention I have a WB rest. If anyone thinks that will make a difference.

Yea, if you shoot WB go with the blazers. Thats what I got going on and the reason I went with the blazers is because feathers or long vanes were not holding up with the biscuit. Blazers have been going strong on my set up for close to a year now and I shoot at least 2 times a week.:)

I've tried both and am impressed with the performance of both , i made the switch from Quickspins and definately think they are both better in looks and performance .

I got rid of feathers years ago. Went to 4 " duravanes. got tired of the weather and abuse trees and rocks took on feathers. Would never go back. Went to 2" blazers three years ago. A little more weight which as OK and they did fly a little flatter when shooting out to 40 or 50 yds. Still usuing some duravanes for whitetailwith 90 gr muzzys.

Don't forget all the noise the feathers make when they are on the way. Blazers OK
