How's my Form?

Hey everyone. How do you think my form is? I am thinking my draw length may be a tad short?

Well from what I see your bow arm isn't straight. Its hard to tell anything else with it not straight first. The draw length will probably be short if you do straighten your arm. Also you find it gets easier to draw as your not using only your arms but more your back.

Not sure if it's the pics or what.......... it looks like you need a big boy bow! [8D]

Too crunched up (longer draw length), or possibly take pics while aiming level to the ground.

BTW, there is a Form thread above.

Nope, shoot it so you are shooting straight like at a 3d not outta a tree stand then we could see better. Look straight ahead not down. Also i agree you draw seems a bit short but actually not so bad in the pic you just posted. Measure your wing span and use this then youll know if you havethe right draw. http://www.yeoldearcheryshoppe.com/drawlength.phpWCL

Draw length sucks. You're way to short. Find yourself a good proshop.

I agree your draw length is too short. It looks good in the pic, but your bow arm is way too bent. You need to straighten it out more and rotate your elbow outwards. Also, it looks like you are gripping the bow too hard. Try holding it in the "L" of your thumb and index finger, with your fingers relaxed barely on the grip.

Go through Matt / PA's "form" thread pinned to the top and look at the advanced shooters, and compare their pics to yours. You should notice a few differences. :)

Yeah I measured my draw length at the archery shop and it was 31 inches. The bow is set to 30 inch draw...the maximum it will go cause I don't think Bowtech makes 31 inch draw for the General. I also put the string loop on too so that makes it a bit longer.

I always wonder how people feel that proper form can be seen from still photo's. Granted, a couple things can be checked.

Hmm well that sucks. You should be shottin it at 30.5 or 31 cuz your lopp doesnt really matter. Its all from you ancor point forward/your bow arm that needs the draw. The best thing you could prolly do is move that kisser back right tight to your string loop. That will give you another 1/2 inch about. Other than that I guess you'll just have to deal with it being short unless you switch to a diff bow. WCL

Noah, I agree your draw length does look short. I am curious, what is the measurement of your arm span? Middle finger to middle finger when you are backed up to a wall extending your arms out against the wall at right angles to your body.

You definitely got the reach!!

Dan, I will measure it tonight and let you know. WCL also said to put my kisser down towards my loop and that might help.

It might help it might not. You may run into sight and peep troubles if you get to low on the string. Depends on how much your sight can be adjusted. WCL

Way SHORT and damn dont that scare you drawing your loaded bow back in the house?

RE: How's my Form?

I would agree that you DL is short, but not as short as everyone is saying. You have your anchor too far back and therefore your bow arm is more bent than it needs to be. Push you bow arm forward until the string is touching the TIP of your nose...thats where it should be, not far back like it currently is. I also think a shorter release head will help as well.

Get a pic with you aiming level and that will help us better understand your form.

My very first thought....Draw too short... other than that it looks good..

your draw is just too short and get a bow sling and DONT GRIP THE BOW until the arrow has hit the target

Alright I will try that. I will post a couple better pics tonight when I get home from work.
