Being a Visionary

All the technical aspects of bowhunting discussed here sometimes brings it down I think. I like to keep it kinda simple so the visions/dreams oflucky hunts never get boring. Man, I just like to hunt. I want something to dream and visualize about. Some, I think, just get to caught up with Being successful, to enjoy just going to the woods with what we already know, and getting lucky.

Just ramblin' on....

Lately I have been visualizing a groundhog at 55 yds LOL. I'll take closer but have been practicing that distance. It's gonna be great fun :D:D. Groundhog fever starts Saturday ;)

LT, I agree, Im guilty of it too though, but sometimes there is no substitute for a good ol day of luck and circumstance, no strategy, no QDM, no measurements, just huntin for what it is, a hobbie, yet a passion or obsession as well!!

Your right, I do believe it all has to be an exact science these days and I believe it stems from just wanting to learn as much as possible about the MYSTERIOUS WHITETAIL (or what ever word you want to use here). In the end result it is all about being in the woods with them and enjoying god's country and to do your best to be in the best places your property have to offer. I hate to think of the cold winter morning i don't wake up hoping this to be the day I see the biggest buck I have ever laid my eyes on.

I kinda seehunting as how Matt/PA was describing 3D the other day......if you read his post.

I also KNOW that different people are motivated in different ways. We all have different goals and aspirations. It's personal. What one man sees as "technical" or "work".....another sees as "Inspiration" and as a "goal".

Neither is wrong. It's personal.

Never said it was wrong, and yes it is personal Jeff, thus the title of my thread.;)

I don't want to go thru life getting good at one thing after another just so I can say I did. I used to think this way. Not anymore.

Jeff, did you stop going after ducks and geese?? I know, off topic, but I was wondering if you still go after them.

I buried my passion for watefowling on 12/26/06, VA. She was a great friend....a master hunter (that I trained)......and the reason I loved even the slow times. I still miss her a lot.;)

When it comes to hunting and my enjoyment, I don't let anything bring me down. Whether it was discussed here or elsewhere, if it doesn't suit me, I discard it. Immediately!

I hunt everyday on luck. I know my hunting area but I do very little scouting and pretty much just pick a tree, climb it, and wait for a deer to come by. Some times they do and other times they don't. I wouldn't have it ant other way.

I think your statement, Greg.....was spot-on. I think we all take what we think applies to our unique circumstances ...........and we discard the rest.
