In some cases yes, in some no. Size does matter ,[:-]andso does location, deer numbers & food availability.

So well maybe,I guess,sometimes.

I think so. The food is there specifically to attract game animals.

I plant food plots so don't think I am looking down on anyone

I can see it going both ways.....and have no problems distinguishing it as either (is or isn't).

Me? I'd say it is. I draw the line (a hard line some would say) at indigenous species. If corn; soy beans; rape, brassica and imperial whitetail blendd allgrow naturally where you hunt.....then I'd say you weren't baiting

I never thought about it but I would have to say I think it is. I have no problem with it but its put there just like a bait pile to attract game!

Well let me say..That I probably was the voice behind this particular post.

Yes it is a form of baiting, sorry thats my opinion and I'm entitled to it. But You'll also see that I'm not denouncing baiting. If I had the land, your damned right I'd have food plots. I'd grow better, healthierdeer, and keep them on my property.

I don't bait with food during the season. I use corn, I use minerals, for my game cams before the season.

We just seem to bash the guy with the feeder and then admire the guy with the food plot..it's that double standard that irks me. They are doing the same thing. One is mechanical to do the planting and one is mechanical to do the feeding. So you can't have it both ways, if your for it and have food plot, don't bash the guy with the feeder.

I don't do either..but I'm not against either, either (if legal in your State)

PERFECTLY states my stance, as well.

For all practical purposes....absolutely it is. But legally, at least in MO, it isn't.....so....I'll plant them and hunt over them.

Is it hypocritical of me to say, immediately after that, that I won't hunt over a bait pile?

I don't think so, Don. It would be hypocritical if you condemned them for the practice (those who DO hunt over a bait pile)
